Freud's 8-inch safety dado set delivers a flat-bottomed groove that's virtually splinter-free, giving you a supersmooth dado bottom. This stack, when used on table or radial-arm saws, cuts slots, grooves, dadoes, and rabbets in hardwood or softwood. Laser-cut with carbide tips, the blades are also resharpenable. This stack does an excellent job when working with hardwoods and softwoods, but, for cutting plywoods or veneer plywoods, we suggest Freud's 8-inch professional dado or Super Dado set. --Dori Anvinson

Cut slots, grooves, dadoes, and rabbets in softwood, hardwood, plywood, or laminated chipboard. Used on table saws and radial-arm saws, these safety dadoes will produce grooves from 1/4 to 13/16 inches in width (1/16-inch increments). Through the use of AKD limiters on both sides of the outside blades and chippers, the dangers of kickback from overfeeding and climbing on radial arm saws have been reduced.
