For starters, the saw has nine-spoke wheels--as opposed to the more common six-spoke design--that deliver more accurate tension, minimizing blade vibration. The heavy-duty cast-iron trunnions likewise minimize vibration to the blade. The saw's 1-1/2-horsepower induction motor delivers impressive powerful, smooth, quiet performance. It's perfect for curve cutting, but the saw isn't going to bog down when ripping hardwoods, either. The lower blade guide on this saw rests only 3/4 inch below the table, which greatly minimizes deflection in the blade and provides cleaner cuts. The large 14-by-14-inch table provides plenty of support for workpieces. The smart features don't stop there, though. The saw's adjustment knobs are large and easy to operate. The hinged pulley cabinet makes it easy to access the wheel for blade adjustments and changes. The closed base reduces noise and keeps dust off the motor.
